Wilbur W. Wade, 83, of Mogadore, Ohio, passed away on January 17th, 2016 peacefully in his sleep. Wilbur was born in Akron, Ohio on October 26, 1932. He was married for 43 years to the late Beverly M. (Wagner) (Peep) Wade, he will now be joining her in Heaven.

Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents, Art Wade and Pearl "Dee" Wade; as well as his brothers Bill Wade and Art Wade.

Wilbur is survived by his two daughters, Debra S. Wade and Sandy L. (Wade) Moneypenny and her husband Garry Moneypenny. He is also survived by grandchildren Ryan Wade and Shanna Williams and great-grandchildren, Rya Wade and Layten Atkins. Wilbur is also survived by longtime lady friend, Pat Hauser, and good buddy, Eddie.

Wilbur, at the age of 14 worked at the famous Thacker's Hamburger Restaurant; at age 16 he was hired into the Mailroom at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. At age 19, during the Korean War, Wilbur enlisted into the Military, proudly serving his Country in the United States Navy serving four years on the US Air Craft Carrier, the USS Kearsarge. After serving his Country he returned to Goodyear Rubber and Tire working in numerous positions in manufacturing before proudly retiring after 45 years of service.

Wilbur was a competitive horse shoe player winning many tournaments. He was a member of the Mogadore Moose and a life time member of VFW Post # 8487 and served in their Color Guard Unit. Wilbur was a die-hard Pittsburg Steelers fan. What Wilbur loved most was playing the Banjo and singing Country Music.

The family also wants to thank all the doctors, nurses and aides at both Akron General Hospital and Pebble Creek Advance 360 Rehab/Nursing facility for all their dedicated care.

Wilbur, you were bigger than life and always ensured that those all around you were included in whatever was going on. You will be deeply missed by all those who love you.

Friends will be received from 11am-1pm on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where the funeral service will begin at 1pm. Private interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Akron, 7996 Darrow Rd., Twinsburg, OH 44087.
