Virginia D. Anderson
1937 - 2022

Virginia D. Anderson, 84, passed away peacefully May 13, 2022. Born November 17, 1937 in
Longview, Texas to John Merton and Doris (White) Young, she had resided in Kent, Ohio since
1980. Virginia was a faithful member of Kent Presbyterian Church and for many years she was
the Director of Alpha Phi, Kent State chapter. Virginia was a talented seamstress, loving
preschool teacher, tireless volunteer; a friend and mentor to many. Later in life she enjoyed
sipping coffee with her husband, Ray while watching the wildlife surrounding their home. She
liked going to flea markets and thrift stores. Most importantly, Virginia adored her family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Anderson. She will be
sadly missed by her children, Laura Anderson (Brad Mills), Vanessa Zvosec, Matthew Anderson;
grandchildren, Christian Luke, Marlena, Douglas, Deidre; brothers, Merton (Betsy) Young, Jr.,
Mark (Karen Flo) Young; nieces, nephews and friends.

Per Virginia's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of her and Ray's life will take place
Sunday, August 14, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Kent Presbyterian Church, 1456 E. Summit St. in Kent.
Virginia and Ray will be laid to rest Monday, August 15 at 11:15 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve
National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd. in Seville with military honors for Ray. Those who wish
may make memorial donations in Virginia's name to the charity of their choice.
