Adam Michael Steurer
1993 - 2021

Adam Michael Steurer, died from a heroin overdose on August 25, 2021, he was 28 years old.

Adam was an old soul with a bright, bright future. He absolutely loved jazz music and was a fabulous jazz drummer. He had so much promise until heroin took over his mind and body. He didn’t set out to be an addict. Addiction is a mental illness that takes over every aspect of your life. Each time he went to rehab, he came out positive and ready to live a clean life. Each time he relapsed, a piece of him died, until there were no pieces of him left. We pray that he has found the peace that he was not able to find here on earth.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Guy Gabriel and Bill Steurer; his uncle, Jeff Gabriel; and cousins, Brian Klein and Patrick Steurer.

He is survived by his parents, Kevin and Pam; his sister, Kelly; his grandmothers, Betty Gabriel and Patricia Steurer; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

We would like to thank all of his peer supporters, especially Adam R., the staff at New Day, especially Amy and all of his NA family, especially Sylvio. Thanks for spending so much time with Adam and trying so very hard to help him stay clean.

Funeral services are private.

Any donations can be sent to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank or Catholic Charities to help the poor and the homeless.

All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron.
