Ronald Francis Chafe
1949 - 2021

Ronald F. Chafe, age 71 of Suffield went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 28, 2021. He was never without his family in his two and a half year battle with cancer, and left the world the same way. Ron was born in Akron on April 2, 1949 to Robert and Ida {Ames} Chafe.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his son Brian and his sister Sandy.

Ronald leaves his legacy to his wife of 48 years, Becky; daughter Jennifer (Scott) Newpher; grandchildren Andrew (Alexis) and Emily Newpher; brother Bobby (Rosie) Chafe; sisters Suzanne (Dave) Lance and Cricket (Mike) Younce; golf buddies Dave and Jerry; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Ron was the "bestest buddy" to his grandchildren, who called him Crappa. He loved sports, especially softball, racquetball, football, and golf. Ron retired from Ohio Edison, and spent his retirement sharing his love of golf with his family. He was funny with a sarcastic streak, and was the life of the party. Ron was a generous and selfless man, spoiling his family and helping those who needed him.

Per Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be planned for this summer. To leave a message for Ron's family, please scroll below.
