In Memory Of
Helen Louise "Grandma" Nichols
1925 - 2020

Helen Louise Nichols, age 95, passed away on May 26, 2020.

She was born on April 2, 1925 in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of the late George J. and Mary (nee McMuldron) Raymond.

Helen lived in Suffield, Ohio for the past 49 years. Helen was one of 10 children and is survived by her brother, Wilfred Raymond Sr. and Donald (Anne) Raymond. She was married to Russell B. Nichols for 72 years prior to his passing in 2014. They had three children, Helen L. (Tony) Franjesh, Frank B. (Michele) and Daniel R. (Barbara) Nichols. Helen's pride and joy were her three children, nine grandchildren (Todd, Tina, Tamara, Ty, Jami, Jonelle, Jillian, Jocelyn and Jenna), 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. In her eyes, we could do no wrong. Helen was also a special sister-in-law (to Patti Raymond and Lila Danner) and a loving aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed dearly by all of her family and neighborhood breakfast club friends. The family finds comfort in knowing that "Grandma" has been reunited with her late husband (Russ), her two sons (Frank and Dan), her granddaughter (Tina) and her brothers and sisters that have passed before her.

Helen was a strong, independent woman until the very end. Family reunions, picnics and gatherings meant the world to her, especially at the holidays. She never missed a birthday, forgot an anniversary or any special date. She was a Grandma to all and we will never forget her stories.

A special thank you to the wonderful nurses at Summa Hospice for the wonderful care and special attention they gave to Grandma during her last days.

Due to social gathering restrictions, a private memorial service will take place at a later date (to be determined) for family members and close friends.

All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron.
