June B. Smith (nee Bittinger) was born March 5, 1923 in Garrett County, Maryland and died January 4, 2020 at her residence in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio at age 96.

She was raised by her parents, Dewey and Ruby (Beachy) Bittinger and grew up in Springfield Township. June graduated as Class Valedictorian from Springfield High School in 1941. She then attended Kent State University, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology & Chemistry, graduating Cum Laude in 1946. June later returned to Kent State and earned another Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 1967. She was an elementary teacher at Roosevelt School in Springfield Township.

June was a gifted writer, having two books published, "Roads, Ribbons and Rainbows" and "Reflections on the French River". She was an excellent homemaker who enjoyed knitting, quilting, quilling, needlepoint, flower gardening and playing cards. One of the most amazing moments in her life came in October 1933 when the German airship Graf Zeppelin flew very low over her house en route to landing at Akron Airport with the passengers aboard waving to her!

She is also survived by her special niece, Sally Berger and very special third daughter, Christine Corzin.

Per her wishes, there will be no formal service. Cremation has taken place.
