Ray L. Watson, Jr, 58, passed away October 2, 2019 after a long illness. Born in Hartford, CT to Raymond L, Sr. and Betty (Smith) Watson, he resided in both the Atlanta and Akron areas most of his life. Ray was a U.S. Army Veteran and he worked as an engineer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading and spending time with his family.

Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his children, Aleta Nicole (Demontae) Edwards, Torrin Raynard Watson and Darrien Xavier Watson; grandchildren, Maleyah Watson, Giavonni Edwards and Raelyn Watson; siblings, Gloria Watson, Jerome Watson, Michael (Toka) Watson, Veronica Watson and Sharon (DShawn) Shinholster; nieces, nephews including special nephew, Tyron Portis; special cousin, Daun Berry; special friends, Tawanna Thomas, Charles Lewis, Michael Jackson and Jonathan Gray.

Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, October 11, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The Celebration of Life service will immediately follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
