Carl Emerson Eikelberry, 92, of Streetsboro, passed away peacefully at his home on June 8, 2019. He was born in Cambridge, Ohio on March 13, 1927 to the late Albert and Stella Eikelberry. Carl grew up in St. Clairsville, Ohio. He graduated from St. Clairsville High School in 1948 and belonged to the United Presbyterian Church. In his youth, he worked on local farms and also in the coal mines. In 1949, he married the former Betty Drake and they moved to Kent, Ohio in 1951 and began their family. Carl worked for Twin Coach Company in Kent and later retired from CL Gouglar Machine in 1991 after 38 years of service. He also ran his own lawn service company and was a past president of the UAW. In his free time, Carl enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and carpentry. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph, Lloyd, Leonard, Charles, and Clarence Eikelberry. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Betty; children, Robert (Susan) Eikelberry, Richard (Connie) Eikelberry, and Linda Barlett; grandchildren, Stacey (Mike) Belknap, Jennifer (Allen) Tyner, Melinda (Richard) Barnes, Joseph (Lisa) Davis, and Adam (Bethany) Barlett; nephew, Danny Eikelberry; niece, Diane Luke; and nine great-grandchildren. Per Carl's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Portage County APL.
