1943 - 2019

Carlos Leroy Davis, "CL", passed away in the loving arms of his Lord on May 9, 2019, after a short illness with ALS. He was born on February 20, 1943, the son of the late Clyde and Estel (nee Green) Davis in Sutton, WV.

Carlos moved to the Akron area in 1965, and moved to Atwater in 1970 where he currently resided.

CL worked at the Ravenna Arsenal for 33 years. He loved water sports, such as water skiing and barefooting.

Other than his parents, CL was preceded in death by his siblings, Herbert, Donald (wife, Rose), and Karen (husband, Jim) Freeman.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, the former Carol Olson, whom he married on October 29, 1966; his devoted son, Christopher; and his cherished granddaughter, Madison Davis. His siblings also survive, Lorena (Oley) Teter, Rita Jean (Ira) Freeman, Wanda (Gary) Freeman, Cathy (Ethan) Marsh, Carolyn (Greg) Nestor, and Brenda (Josh, Jr.) Sammons; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and a great-great-nephew.

Per his wishes there will be no calling hours. Cremation has taken place.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Portage County APL or to the ALS Foundation.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron.
