She was born on October 17, 1939 in Charleston, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Sebert and Dorothea (nee Knight) Trail.
Eleanor was a 1957 graduate of Charleston High School and tended bar for Roll Away, Bel Air, and Bill White Lanes bowling alleys. She enjoyed gardening, loved to gamble, and her "girl time" with her sisters, and an avid fan of the West Virginia basketball and football programs and all of the Cleveland sports. Mrs. Recob liked traveling and was highly involved in attending her grandchildren's and great-grandchild's events.
Eleanor and her husband, Wes, are members of Wedgewood United Methodist Church, where she was highly involved for many years in helping the homeless.
Survivors include her loving husband, Wesley Recob, whom she married on July 14, 1962; her children, Sharon Ann (Randy) Besserman and David Wesley (Paula) Recob; her grandchildren, Brian Besserman, Elizabeth "Beth" Recob, and Eric Besserman; her great-granddaughter, Addy Besserman. Eleanor's siblings also survive, Sebert Lee Trail, Maurice "Ricky" (Gwen) Trail, Patricia (Jack) Hilton, and Dinah (Bob) Riggs.
Other than her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her brother, George Trail.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, October 15, 2018 at Greenlawn Cemetery-Uniontown, 3373 Northdale Street, Uniontown, Ohio, Pastor Rick Stout will celebrate her life.
Family and friends will be received at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, on Monday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Haven of Rest Ministries, 175 East Market Street, Akron, Ohio 44308.
