James D. Davis, "Jim", age 62 of Uniontown, Ohio, died on Monday, August 13, 2018 at 6:20 AM at Hospice Care Center in Copley, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on September 18, 1955 in Akron, the son of the late James J. and Helen (nee Petros) Davis.

Jim was a 1973 graduate of Hoban High School and was a fireman/oiler at the Canton and Akron City Schools.

Jim enjoyed dancing, and was an avid Bruce Springsteen fan, he loved to tinker around the house, and loved his dogs, Jenner and Katie. He could be found at any estate sale. Jim loved anything with Big Foot, the Paranormal, Time Travel, and Aliens!

Survivors include his loving wife, the former Tonya Page, whom he married on October 1, 1983; his son, Kevin J. Davis; his step-sons, Robert Allen Leary and Michael John Leary; and his two brothers, Larry Davis and Joseph Davis; his special cousins, Robert Leary, Rose Massaro, Bridgette McConnell, Steve Leary, Charles "Al" Leary, and the Gene Davis family.

Memorial calling hours will take place from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron.

A Memorial Mass will take place at Nativity of the Lord Jesus Catholic Church, 2425 Myersville Road, Akron, Ohio 44312 at 12:00 PM, Noon, on Friday, August 24, 2018, Father Zachary Kawalec will celebrate James' life.
