Robert E. Monk, 66, of N. Canton, passed away March 14, 2017. Bob was born on June 7, 1950 in Akron, Ohio to the late Ellen and William Monk. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. having served from 1967-1970. He enjoyed a career as a sanitation driver with various companies throughout his life. He cherished spending time with his wife, going out to eat and traveling to Hartville flea market and Amish Country. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and his hobbies included fishing and watching movies.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Connie; brother, Chuck and sister, Marie Mason.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Carolyn of 13 years; son, Jason (Erin) Monk; step-daughter, Christine Harden; step-son, John (Michelle) Poston; grandchildren, Rylee, Cayden and Liam, Kylee, Jade, Griffin and Gavin; brothers, Bill, Jim (Sandy) and Jeff Monk.

Family and friends may call on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 1-4 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held Monday, March 20, 2017 at 11:00 am. He will be laid to rest at St. Peter of the Fields Cemetery.
