Carl E. Jenkins, Sr., 71, passed on January 26, 2015.

He was born on October 1, 1943, the fourth of seven children, to the late Ormond and Mary Jenkins. He began cutting meat at Andy’s Market as a teenager and retired as a respected executive in the food service industry. Carl was past governor of the Moose Lodge 1082. He was also an active participant and volunteer at the American Legion and VFW and an active member of the motorcycle community. Carl had a gift with people and was loved and respected by all.

Preceded in death by wife, Darleen and brother, Charles. He is survived by children, Carl, Jr., Craig (Julie), Cindi (Bruce) George, and their sister, Jessica Lucien; his lifelong friend, and mother of his children, Dorothy Lucien; siblings, Nancy Hicks, Carol Fowler, Libby Stone, Loran, and Dodi; grandchildren, Eliza, Jarrett, Nash, Tessa, Randy, Olivia, Cori, Ami, and Bruce, II. He was “Uncle Rollie” to many.

Calling hours will be Thursday, 5-7 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of donations, please send flowers…LOL.
