Dennis K. Fox, 66, of Akron, passed away October 17, 2014. Dennis was born in Akron, Ohio on December 17, 1947 to the late Roy and Ethel Fox. Dennis proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines from 1967 to 1969. He was a sponsor of Firestone Park youth sports for over 30 years and coached alongside best friend Tim Flossie. Dennis was an avid poker player, but was best known for his generosity to others. In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by dear friend, Kenneth Lee Matthews. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mikie; mother-in-law, Dorothy Banco; son, Roy Fox; daughters, Kelle Fox and Shannon (Bobby) Donahue; proud grandpa to, Brianna, Logan, Alex, Dennis, Kylie, Savannah, Jada, Evan, Caden; sisters, Sharon Darby and Denise George. Family and friends may call on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, a memorial service will follow at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675.
