Kelly D. Simpson, age 57, of Suffield passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017. Kelly was born on September 4, 1960 to Joen and Bill Simpson. Kelly lived almost his entire life in the Brimfield/Suffield area. He attended St. Patrick’s school in Kent, Hoban High School and Kent State University.

Kelly was an avid sports fan. He coached youth football for many years in Firestone Park and played in many baseball and softball leagues. Kelly always supported his Buckeyes and Browns through wins and many losses. He was very passionate about hunting and loved spending time down in Guernsey county at the Lestock’s farms as well as fishing in Pointe au Baril, Ontario, Canada with the Corner and Carson families.

Kelly never met a stranger and will be missed by many friends and family. Kelly is preceded in death by his parents Joen and Bill Simpson, grandparents, aunts and uncles. He is survived by his daughter Kelley Ann Simpson, Sister Kassandra Ulrich (Rick), Brother In Laws Al Krell (Robin), David Krell (Debbie), Robert Johnson and Mother in Law Carol Brown, as well as many nieces and nephews, two great nieces, a host of cousins and friends, Jean Simpson, and loving companion Jodi Raymond-Nickel.

Kelly’s funeral service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Newcomer Funeral Home located at 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, OH 44305. Calling hours will be from 4-6 with a service immediately following. The burial will take place on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cumberland cemetery located at 325 Cemetery St, Cumberland, OH.
