Rose Mary Lemmon, age 71 of Akron, Ohio, died after a very brief illness on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Akron City Hospital.

She was born in Akron, Ohio on December 29, 1945, the daughter of the late George and Julia Brodlia Kratsas.

Rose Mary was a homemaker but she did, at times, work outside of the home, as a secretary and also as a preschool teacher.

Rose Mary enjoyed playing bingo, yahtzee, coloring and drawing, and watching baseball with her sister-especially the Cleveland Indians. Her greatest joy wasbeing with her grandchildren, they loved their "choppy kisses". She was very devoted to the Blessed Mother and saying the rosary.

Survivors include her children, Carla (Anthony) Hadad of Medina, and Raymond M. Lemmon of Akron; her grandchildren, Lidiya, Piper, Lexiah, and Pacie; her one sister, Violet Wallis of Akron; and her mother-in-law, Della Smith Lemmon of Manchester, Ohio.

Other than her parents, Rose Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Douglas Lemmon on July 26, 1990, they were united in marriage on May 17, 1976; her two brothers, Jack and Harry Kratsas; and her father-in-law, Robert E. Lemmon.

Memorial services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 6:00 PM where Pastor Jerry Murrell will celebrate Rose Mary's life.

Family and friends may visit at the funeral home from 4:00 - 6:00 PM on Thursday.
