Roy O. Heffelman Jr. passed away at Altercare of Hartville Center on Tuesday August 16, 2016. Roy was born July 22, 1928 to Roy Sr. and Margaret (Moreland) Heffelman. Besides his parents, he was preceded by his first wife Dolores (Colegrove). Roy graduated from Central High School and was employed by Ohio Edison for 35 years. Roy loved to travel, especially to warm climates, play golf, take daily walks, and watch his tomatoes grow. He was a devoted Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers, Browns, and Ohio State fan, and loved attending the Firestone/Bridgestone Golf Tournament every August. One of Roy's favorite topics was the weather and he enjoyed listening to Dick Goddard every night on TV. Even though Roy was a reserved person, he loved attending family functions.

Roy was an usher for many years at Goodyear Heights Presbyterian Church. Roy is survived by his wife of 25 years, Peggy (Lehman); his daughters, Susan Heffelman of FL; and Carolyn (Jim) Laughlin of Seville; and a son, David (Barb) Heffelman of FL; granddaughters, Jennifer Laughlin-Moitoret of Wellington, Lori Heffelman of TX, and Meghan (Evan) Amorgianos; great-grandson, Alexander Amorgianos of Medina.

Calling hours for Roy will be held on Monday August 22, 2016 from 10-11am with a service to follow at 11am at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. Dr. David Weyrick presiding. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
