Zelma Irene Lee
Zelma earned her angel wings on October 19, 2015. She was born January 12, 1921in Nuttallburg W.V. and she deeply embraced her Native American heritage (Cherokee). She was a strong, fiercely independent woman who lived and loved passionately and did things her way in death, just as she did in life.
Zelma is preceded in death by her parents and 6 siblings, her husband, James R. Lee and son, Roger D. Lee. She is survived by her sons, Larry Spencer (Mary), Jerry Spencer, Thomas Lee; daughter, Brenda Endicott (Gary); brother, Carl Johns; and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation has already occurred and Zelma would ask that you think of her when you are outside admiring the beauty of nature, when you spot a blue jay, or when petting your favorite dog or cat.
Zelma used the principals in the following story as a guide for her life, and would hope that you find special meaning in it as well. An old Cherokee is teaching her grandchild about life: A fight is going on inside me, she said to the child. It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. This same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too. The grandchild thought about it for a minute and then asked the Cherokee elder, Which wolf will win? The old Cherokee simply replied, The one you feed.
