Zelda E. Watters

Zelda E. Watters, 81, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, October 15, 2015 with her family by her side. She was born on January 3,1934 in Morris Township, Pennsylvania. Zelda married the love of her life Chuck on March 11th, 1955 and together they raised five wonderful children. She was a Registered Nurse working at Akron City Hospital for more than 30 years, retiring in 1989. Zelda was an avid gardener and photographer. She enjoyed camping and traveling all over the world. Zelda also felt a special bond with her little dogs. Most importantly she cherished the time she was able to spend with her family.

Her Faith was very important to her and she attended Firestone Park Baptist Church and The First Church of the Brethren.
In addition to her mother, Frances Combe, Zelda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 33 years, Charles "Chuck" Watters; son, Chris Watters, daughter, Cindy Caley; daughter-in-law, Julia Watters; grandson, Robert and sister, Iris Combe.

Zelda is survived by her loving children, Charles "Skip" ,John and Lyn; sister, Lorraine (Clifford) Hoyt of Gahanna, OH; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
Grandma was the "go-to" of the entire family and will be deeply missed.

The family will receive guests Tuesday, October 20th, 2015 from 4-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 (330-784-3334). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday, October 21st, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior. Officiating will be Pastor Tim Crow. Interment will follow at Lakewood Cemetery.

Donations may be made to Akron General Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service and Affiliates (VNSA) or to any Pet Rescue organization of the donor's choice.
