Zander Frank Hormell "Ruggy," age 2, gone too soon, was greeted in Heaven by his brothers, Takoma and Eithan, and Papa Dave on September 27, 2016. Zander was an energetic, young boy; he loved to wrestle with his brothers and play with his trucks and tractors. Much like his father, he enjoyed truck and tractor pulls and being outside. Of the few words Zander spoke, his favorite quotes were "who made this mess" and "it fell," and those words brought a smile to everybody's face. His smile was contagious and he would light up a room when he walked in. Zander loved the movies The Land Before Time and Mighty Machines.
He leaves behind his parents, Mike and Kimber Hormell; brothers, Michael II, Dakotah Smith, Austin Smith; sister, Raelynn; maternal grandparents, Sam (Jamie) Lambert, Pam (Mark) Pennington; paternal grandparents, Jessie (Billie) Denning, Jeff (Melody) Hormell; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 2-4 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where the funeral service will be held at 4 pm. Pastor Matt Angle will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
