Yvonne "Bonnie" Sutherland

Yvonne "Bonnie" Marie Sutherland, age 77, of Akron passed away on April 21, 2025. She was born on July 27, 1947, to the late Donald and Dorothy Harget. She was a graduate of Buchtel High School. Bonnie retired from Giant Eagle after 27 years and was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ of Akron. Bonnie held a deep affection for her home town throughout her life. She was an avid reader and enjoyed nature, cats, and art. She was a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her children Michael (Jeannette) Upchurch, Jenny Boston, Carrie Upchurch, and Sarah Sutherland; grandchildren Joshua Kelley, Brianna Dean, Haley, Amber, and Lauren Boston; great-grandchild Hailey Dean; and a host of cousins.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her brother Don Harget and his wife Brenda, and granddaughter Heather Kelley.

A Celebration of Life service will take place from 4-6 p.m. on May 24th, 2025 at Trinity United Church of Christ. Cremation will take place per her wishes.
