Wilma "Little Lou Lou" Pendergast, 77, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 12, 2014.
She was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple where she also taught Sunday school for over 40 years and worked with the nursing home ministry. Wilma was the PTA president at Barber School when her children attended. She enjoyed planting flowers, bird watching, sitting on her front porch and visiting with her neighbors.
Preceded in death by her parents, Noble Aaron and Anna Lou Crowley; sister, Betty Green, Lillian Haggard, Mary Lou Allen, and Rachel Laughary; brothers, El Donald, Darrell, Dalton "Slim", Jake, and Marvin Crowley; and sons, James Russell "Rusty" and Daniel K. Markle.
She is survived by her husband Berne, whom she married on January 4, 1975; daughter, Tamie (Robert) Contois; daughter-in-law, Janette Markle; brother Noble Clea (Kathy) Crowley; grandchildren, Samantha Snyder, Jonathan Markle, and Nikkole (Chris) Freed; great-granddaughter, Akali "Pickles" Freed; sister-in-law, Virginia Crowley; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Friday, 5-8 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment at Mount Peace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Akron Baptist Temple.
