Willie B. Hensley
Willie B. Hensley passed away at Hospice of Robinson Memorial on February 1, 2015.
He was born on June 5, 1927 in Livingston, Tennessee to the late Lee and Mae (Kennedy) Hensley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Pauline (Waddell) in 2004; one grandson; and five brothers. He is survived by his children, Linda (Ray) Troyer, Jimmy (Debbie) Hensley, and Carol (Richard) Mooney; grandchildren, Kenneth W. Hillard, Ann Marie (Mike) Brown, William (Billie) Hensley, Jimmy (Heather) Hensley, Jr., and Tammy (Curt) Lindsay; sisters, Betty Matheny and Barbara Matthews; brother, Robert Hensley; and eight great-grandchildren.
Willie was a proud veteran of the US Army serving as Military Police of the 50th military battalion, stationed in Manila, Philippines. He was the recipient of the World War II Victory Metal and a member of the American Legion. Willie worked in the construction industry for 30 years as a home builder.
Calling hours will be Thursday, Noon to 1:30 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, with a funeral service to follow at 1:30 p.m. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Robinson Memorial Hospice or the Louis Stokes Veterans Clinic.
