William Dale Pitz, a cherished member of his family and community, passed away on January 23, 2026, at the age of 85, in Stow, Ohio. Born on December 15, 1940, in Barberton, Ohio, William lived a life filled with dedication to his craft, love for his family, and passion for sports.

A proud graduate of Barberton High School, William embarked on a rewarding career as a meat cutter. He served the community through his roles at Sparkle Market, Apples, and Giant Eagle, where he eventually retired from his long-standing position. His work was marked by skill and commitment, earning him respect and admiration from his colleagues and customers alike.

William had a great love for sports, particularly for the Cleveland Indians, now known as the Guardians, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. His passion for these teams was only rivaled by his enjoyment of golfing, where he cherished the time spent on the course with friends and family.

After retirement, William took the opportunity to move to Florida, where he embraced the warmth and sunshine, while still maintaining close ties to his roots in Ohio.

He is survived by his sons, Christopher (Amy Brand) Pitz and John Pitz, who carry on his legacy with pride. William's family also includes his grandchildren, Billy Pitz, Michael Pitz, Jared (Hailey) Pitz, Emily Pitz, Ariel (Ryan) Thompson, and Kira (Ethan Schmidt) Brand, along with his great-grandchildren Greyson, Jude, and Vera, who brought him immense joy.

William was preceded in death by his parents, John Joseph and Lois Ella (Cutter) Pitz, his devoted wife, Veronica Jean Pitz, and his son, William Thomas Pitz. Each of these losses shaped the man he became, enriching his life experiences and deepening his love for those who remained.

William Dale Pitz will be remembered fondly by all who knew him for his unwavering spirit, his generous heart, and his enduring love for family. His presence will be greatly missed, but his legacy will continue through the many lives he touched throughout his journey.
