William "Edd" Norman, 99, of Akron, passed away on April 2, 2026.
He was born on September 30, 1926 to Franklin and Myrtle (Beets) Norman in Pulaski, TN.
William worked as a Truck Driver for Roadway Express for 30 years before retiring in 1989.
On September 2, 1944, he married Norma A. Inman. William and Norma moved to Akron from Cleveland in 1959.
William enjoyed golfing, bowling, restoring classic cars, and most importantly spending time with his grandchildren. William was a great father and grandfather, always there whenever his family needed him.
William is survived by his loving children; Wanda Dickerson, Eddie (Rena) Norman, and Todd (Christina) Norman; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Tony Norman; one sister, Velma (Austin) Loveless; many nephews, nieces, family, and special friends, Dean and Gary.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Norman; son, Autrey Norman; father, Franklin D. Norman; mother, Myrtle Norman; and 8 siblings.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2026, 10:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Akron, Ohio with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 pm. Pastor Ronnie Hopkins will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the family to donate on your behalf.
