William F. Martin

William F. Martin, 83, of Uniontown, passed away on June 13, 2026 at Akron City Hospital.

He was born on November 20, 1942 to Alfred and Mildred (Chamberlain) Martin in Pittsfield, MA.

After graduating from the University of Massachusetts as a Mechanical Engineer, Bill worked as a Tire Design Engineer for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for 40 years.

On August 26, 1965, he married Mary Lyn Kyer. Bill and Mary Lyn lived in Uniontown, Ohio in a home that Bill helped design.

He was a member of United Methodist Church of Uniontown.

Bill was an avid train enthusiast and sports car fan. He went to many auto races throughout Ohio and New England.

He enjoyed carpentry, making many improvements and projects around their home. Bill also greatly valued time spent with family.

William is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Lyn; daughters, Roxanne (David) Sedlak and Danielle (Christopher) Cummings; grandchildren, Lillias Cummings, Tatiana (Jon) Sedlak, Jon Sedlak; great granddaughter, Hazel; brother, Peter Martin; and sister, Alice Neely. Bill is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by parents, Alfred and Mildred Martin.

Visitation will be held at 10:00am on July 11, 2026 at the United Methodist Church of Uniontown, followed by a service at 11:30am and a luncheon at 12:30pm.
