William Denny (Bill) Davis, age 76, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away into the loving arms of Jesus on Friday, December 5, 2025. Born July 10, 1949, in Akron, Ohio, Denny was the son of the late William D. and Mary Lou Davis. A 1967 graduate of Firestone High School, he studied premed at the University of Akron before shifting to an associate degree in electronic technology. During college, he worked at the Sunshine children's home as a recreation director and soccer coach, and part-time at the Chapel in Akron, where he met Sonia, the love of his life; they married in 1972. Afterward, he joined Firestone Tire and Rubber, later returning to the University of Akron to earn his BSET in Electronic Technology, which advanced his career at Firestone. He spent 15 years there before moving to Goodyear Tire & Rubber, where he worked 28 years in various computer systems and network roles.
Aside from his working career, Denny was a man of loyal faith and devotion to his Savior, Jesus Christ, foremost and to his family second. He was a humble, gentle, friendly, kindhearted man who sought to always value and listen to others first. A behind-the-scenes man with a desire to serve, he volunteered in various roles in church, including Sunday School teacher, sound technician, and in the music department. His hobbies in life included trains, traveling, pickleball, and amateur radio. But beyond all this, what Denny valued most were the relationships he built with his wife, daughters, and grandsons (who all loved their PopPop).
Denny was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou, and father, Bill. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sonia; daughters Stephanie (Tom) Skernivitz and Bethany (Ross) Chassy; grandchildren Solomon, Lionel, and Max; sister Kathy Godard (and her late husband Tim); brother-in-law Milo Popowitch Jr.; niece Kristi and nephews Milo and Michael; and many other loving family and friends.
