William "Bill" D. Trego, Sr., 85, of Akron, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home on August 7, 2012. He was born in Zanesville, OH on October 14, 1926 to the late Donald and Wilma Trego. Bill served our country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Tramonte Distributing Co. of Akron, was a long time teamster and former secretary treasurer of Local 348.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; son, Steven; brothers, Daniel and Roger; sister, Patty Thomas.
Bill is survived by his sons, William (Debra) and Keith (Pat) Trego; daughter, Margaret (Ron) Whitecotton, Sandra (Joey) Sims; step-son, David (Marianne) Brotherton; step-daughters, June (Jim) Reed and Karen (Roger) Plaster; grandchildren, Todd, Craig, Keith Jr., Kevin, Racquel DeRose, Amy Baxter, Jimmy Moon, Michael Moon and Paul Sims; step-grandchildren, Scott Reed, Jeffrey Reed, Jill Farino, Julie Rowe, Robert Brotherton, Lisa Parmeter, Karie Nahas and David Plaster; 34 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-great granchild; sister, Joann (Wayne) Stahl; many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Crossroads Hospice. A special thanks to Racquel, Amy, Jimmy, Karen and Roger for their special care and attention.
Family and friends may call on Friday, August 10, from 5-8 PM and Saturday, August 11 from 10 -11 AM at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will follow on Saturday at 11 AM with Rev. Barry French officiating. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Mogadore, OH.
