William B. "Bill" Kandiko, 91, of Andover, Ohio passed away May 19, 2014. He was born April 25, 1923 in Akron, Ohio to the late Joseph and Anna Kandiko. Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and Korean War. He was also very proud of his Hungarian heritage and maintained his confident sense of humor. Bill retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber after 37 years. He loved watching the Indians, OSU, and golf tournaments.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by first wife and mother of his children, Virginia; second wife, Louise; and several siblings.
He is survived by Son, William (Kathleen), Daughter, Maryann Clark, Daughter, Christine (Jim) Thompson, Son, Joe (Penny), Grandchildren; Sarah (Nate), BJ, Nicole, Anthony, Rachel (Zach), Bryan, Jenna, and Nicholas; Great Grandchildren; Ethan, Emmett, Juniper, and Addison; many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305 where a memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon following visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through their website www.stjude.org or through the funeral home.
