Willa D. Ruther
Willa D. Ruther, 83, of Akron, passed away on October 20, 2015. She was born in Viola, Tennessee on September 24, 1932.
Willa worked as a secretary for both Goodyear Aerospace and the United Way of Florida. For many years she enjoyed golfing, bowling, and fishing on the beaches of Florida. She was an excellent baker and shared her baked goods with all her loved ones.
In addition to her parents, Willa was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Ruther; and sisters, Maxine Adams and Ruth Radak. She will be deeply missed by her children, Michelle Giron and David Kenna; grandsons, Sean (Sarah) Giron and Jason (Salina) Hoover; great-grandchildren, Alix, Dixon, Zoe, Maddix, and Delaney; and special nieces, Laura and Linda (Joe).
Calling hours will be Friday, October 23, 2015 from 3-5 followed by a 5:00 p.m. memorial service at New Horizons Christian Church, 290 Darrow Rd., Akron, OH 44305. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Dr. Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
