Willa Blackwell

Willa D. Blackwell, 88, went home to be with the Lord on February 19, 2015. She was born on May 18, 1926 in Avery Co., N.C to the late Dillard and Vertie Cook. She was a member of the Lord's House of Prayer. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Willa is preceded in death by husband of 60 years, William; brothers, Earl, and J.D.; sisters, Augie, Lena, and Wilma; great-grandson, Shane. She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Ed (Patricia) Blackwell; daughters, Olivia Post, Shirley Slivka, Bernice (Jim) Orlando, Linda (Richard) Stokes, Kathy (Glenn) Wagner, Helen (Tim) Hunt, and Sandra (Jamal) Zelmat; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday February 26, 2015 from 6-9pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday February 27 at 11am at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. Rev. Harvey Greathouse officiating. Interment Rose Hill Burial Park.
