Warren (Russ) Lee Russell

July 10, 1930 - August 14, 2026

Russ Russell, 96, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026, and has been reunited with his loving wife and our wonderful Mom, Betty. Russ was also preceded in death by his parents Audie Lee and Lucille Russell, his brother and sister-in-law Hap and Shirley, brother Paul, and daughter-in-law Chris.

Russ is survived by his children John, Danny (Laura), Rhonda, Nancy (Ty), and Warren (Robyn); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his sister-in-law Darlene.

Our Dad served proudly and honorably in the United States Marine Corps during the Koren Conflict – Semper Fi! He was a dedicated member of the Mogadore Moose 1082, the Mogadore VFW Post 8487, and the Kent American Legion 496. After retiring from the Ford Motor Company, our Dad stayed active and passionate about sports and played softball in the Silver League until the age of 79 when he and his team were champions in the Seniors Softball World Series.

The family would like to thank Amy, Dad’s Angel on Earth, for her kindness and care during Dad’s final year, as well as the compassionate staff of Visiting Angels, Summa Hospice, and Summa Center for Senior Health.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Russ’s life will be on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 12 PM at the Mogadore VFW Post #8487, 383 Randolph Road, Mogadore, OH 44260. Military funeral honors and committal service will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 10:45 AM on Friday, August 28, 2026.
