Warder E. Davisson, "Buck", age 76, of Mogadore, Ohio, died on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 6:18 AM at Akron City Hospital.
He was born on October 23, 1939 in Sardis, WV, the son of the late Denzil and Bernadine Benett Davisson.
Buck worked and retired after 31 years of service from Ohio Operators Engineers Local Union #18 in 2001.
Mr. Davisson was an honorably discharged US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Republic of Vietnam Commendation Medal with Device, Aircraft Crewman Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Air Medal, Purple Heart, and the Vietnam Service Medal.
Buck enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing country music, tinkering in the garage and working in his barn-especially on vehicles; he was a very generous man-helping anyone in need. His greatest joy came from spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his children, Thomas E. (Janice) Davisson, Diana M. (Fred) Little, and James I. Davisson; his seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; his siblings, Marlene (John) Ernest, Maynard (Karen) Davisson, Dwight (Sue) Davisson, Brenda Crayton, Lucille Harris, and Denny (Jean) Davisson; his sister-in-law, Bonnie Davisson; and many nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, Warder was preceded in death by his wife, the former Irmtrud Heimrich on January 30, 2011, they were united in marriage in Germany on May 4, 1961; his daughter, Debra E. and her husband, Jim Blaze; his daughter-in-law, Stacy Davisson; his grandson, Michael Morissette; his brother, Steve Davisson.
Funeral services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131, North Canton Road, Akron, on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 3:00 PM, where family and friends may visit from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Following services Buck will be cremated and he will be laid to rest with his wife in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
