Virginia Ruth Garland

Virginia R. Garland, 79, passed away on April 8, 2015. She was born in Akron, OH to the late Ruth and Almond Jones. She was a wonderful wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and knitting. She worked for JC Penny for over 10 years. Virginia also worked for the Board of Elections for over 30 years.

She is survived by husband of 58 years, Hunter A. Garland Jr.; children, James (Tina) Garland; and Amanda J. Bonanno; grandchildren, Christina, James Jr., and Heather (Michael) Martina; great-grandchildren, Parker and Mikaylah; and brother, Norman Jones.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday April 9, 2015 from 5-8pm and funeral service will be held on Friday April 10, 2015 at 11am at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. Interment Restland Cemetery in Brimfield.
