Virginia M. Berringer passed away on Saturday, May 2, in Akron, Ohio.
A lifelong resident of Akron, Virginia grew up and lived her entire life on the south side of the city. She was a retired Professor of Bibliography at the University of Akron library, the same University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Virginia went on to earn her Master’s of Library Sciences at Kent State University.
Virginia enjoyed traveling all over the country for her various library conferences, and also had the opportunity to make a trip to Europe with her mom and niece, taking several photographs while on that journey. It was a feat to beat Virginia at most board games, especially Yahtzee and Scrabble! Her happy place was at the annual Society of Creative Anachronism "battle" re-enactments at Cooper's Lake Campground in Pennsylvania.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents Ronald F. Berringer and Virginia {McLaughlin} Berringer; sister-in-law Judy Berringer.
Virginia is survived by her loving brothers, Don T. Berringer and Ronald B. Berringer (Sandra); nephews, Don T. Berringer II (Kelly) and Ronald K. Berringer; nieces Lisa (Joe) Zemancik and Cassandra R. Berringer.
Family will receive friends at First Church of God, 464 Northeast Ave. Tallmadge, OH 44278 on Tuesday, May 12th from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Chuck Erbe officiating.
