Violet Maxine Jackson, 85, of Akron, passed away on November 5, 2015. She was born in Ava, Ohio on September 30, 1930 to the late Kenneth and Clara Perkins. Violet spent her career in retail. She was a member of Tallmadge Church of the Nazarene. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Waitman Jackson. She will be deeply missed by her soulmate of 35 years, Robert Gillespie; children, Karen Staggs and Ron Jackson; stepchildren, Tammy Conner, Dewey (Jane) Gillespie, and Danny Miller; sisters, Joann, Eileen, Sandy, Diane, Teresa; brothers, Clayton, Kenneth, Terry, Mitchell; grandchildren, Philip, Veronica (Billy), Tommy, Matt (Jessica), Timmy, Jenny (BJ), Cera, Brad; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Family and friends may call on Monday, November 9, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Powell officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
