Violet June Christner, 90, was called home on December 21, 2014.
She was born in Senecaville, OH, the daughter of William and Hazel Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold M. Christner; and sister, Twyla Wagner.
She is survived by daughter, Constance (Robert) Anliker, of Viera, FL; sons, Kenneth (Jean) Christner, of Tallmadge, and Kurt (LeAnna) Christner, of Malvern; four grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and sister, Waldene Mazak, of Cuyahoga Falls.
Violet June was a graduate of East High School. She worked as a secretary at the Showalter Upholstery Co. for 18 years. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, and gardening, but her greatest joys were her decades as a Sunday School teacher and her family.
Calling hours will be Friday, 4-7 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Community Baptist Church of Tallmadge, 274 N. Munroe Rd., Tallmadge. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
