Violet Gertrue Wendell
Violet Gertrue Wendell, 87, passed away on November 15, 2015. She was born in the hills of Tennessee in 1927 to the late Paul and Adell Dixon. Violet was a fiercely independent woman who loved flea markets, yard sales, and collecting antiques. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Wendell. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Carpenter and Donna Grigalunas; son, Richard (Miyuki) Wendell; grandchildren, Elton John Ehrich, and Duke and Nicolette Wendell; brother, Don (Cheryl) Dixon. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015, from 4-6 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. Funeral service and burial will be held in Cleveland, TN. Special thanks to the staff of Danbury Woods Assisted Living.
