Viola M. Parsons

Viola M. Parsons, 92, of Akron, passed away on February 9, 2026. She was born on May 26, 1933 the daughter of Guy and Lilly Knappenberger of Canton, Ohio. Viola was a member of faith and was a member of Ellet Community Church of God. She was a passionate doll collector that brought joy not only to her but also to those around her. She found similar delight in collecting Beanie Babies, which she adored for their charm and variety.

A true animal lover, Viola had a special bond with her Chihuahua, who was not just a pet but a beloved companion. She was always on the look out for cardinals. Viola had many achievements but her greatest was her love of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband Raymond Parsons; children Robin LaBonte, Terry (Ronald) Deberry, Richard (Teresa) Parsons, Bernard (Nancy) Parsons, Nancy (John) Frymier; granddaughter Elizabeth DeCoux Maxey; and great-granddaughter Kenndle Christian.

Viola is survived by son David (Karen) Parsons; sister Nola Flight; grandchildren Hiram Parsons, Rachael (Ryan) Christian, Rebecca Parsons, Patience Parsons, Dustin Kraisinger, Scott (Melissa) Galloway, David (Nicole) Parsons, Victoria (James) Taylor, Christina (Randy) McKaney, DeAnna (David) Smart, Billy Heath, Kathie Henderson, Kimberly DeCoux, Tearra Edwards, and Tanya De Coux; and many great-grandchildren nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday on February 21, 2026 at 11:00am at Ellet Community Church of God (2700 Priscilla Dr., Akron, 44312) with Pastor Mitch Martin officiating.
