Tony W. Croghan, 50, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 3, 2016. A long time resident of the Akron area, he was born on August 7, 1965 in Cleveland, Ohio to William and Millie Croghan.
Tony was a long time employee of Giant Eagle in Canton. He loved his parents and his dogs. During his life, Tony was an avid golfer, a wrestler, and enjoyed his motorcycle. He was a wonderful son, freely giving his time and energy to helping his father and mother. He will long be remembered by his friends and family as a dedicated friend who was always ready to give of himself, no matter what the situation. All who knew him will miss his loving, strong, and quiet soul terribly.
Known as J.R. by his family, he is survived by his father, William Croghan, his Aunt, and many loving cousins. Tony is preceded in death by his dear mother Millie.
Family will receive friends on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home,131 N. Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305. A Funeral service will follow. Interment will take place at Hillside Memorial Park at a later date.
Donations may be made to Relentless Church 1878 Killian Rd. Akron, OH 44312 in Tony's honor.
