Tim Blankenship, 69, of Akron, passed away April 8, 2017 at home surrounded by family and friends after a short and courageous battle with cancer. He leaves his sister, Anna Howard; nephews, Chad, Lane, Heath (Jan) and great-nephew, Hudson; two very special "adopted sons" Shaun and daughter Madison, Ryan (Kimberly), son Constantine and daughter Ireland.
He leaves behind many close family and friends whom he loved dearly.
Born and raised in Akron, Ohio, son of the late Alta (Dickerson) and Finis Blankenship. He graduated from Garfield High School and attended the University of Akron. He began his working career as a Draftsman, followed by 40 plus years as an "honest" Car Salesman...as Tim liked to say. After retirement, he was a Security Guard at Belden Village Mall, a job that brought him lots of happiness and joy meeting many wonderful people. Tim loved summer and spending time on the boat with family and friends. He was an avid fan of Elvis Presley, listening to his music on a daily basis.
Per Tim's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public services held. He requests his loved ones take some quiet time and listen to an Elvis gospel song in his memory. For those who wish, donations can be made in Tim's name to the American Cancer Society, by phone 800-227-2345, mail to P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or www.cancer.org
A special thank you for all the love and support given by family and friends and outstanding care provided by Summa at Home.
