Tillie C. Roberts

Tillie C. Roberts, 91, of Akron, was reunited with her loving husband, Edwin Neal Roberts, and welcomed home by her heavenly father on August 21, 2015. She was born on July 26, 1924 in Buffalo, NY to John and Pauline Czarnecki. She worked at Curtis Wright as an aircraft riveter during WWII from 1943 to March 1945 when she joined the US Army. Tillie served as a medical technician at Walter Reed Army Hospital where she met and married her husband in 1948. She continued to serve her country in the army until November 1950. After relocating to Akron in 1966, she became a member of St. Matthews Church in Ellet and enjoyed many years volunteering at Akron Children's Hospital in the finger puppet ministry.

Tillie was preceded in death by her husband Edwin; sisters, Florence, Irene, Madeline, Loretta and Matilda; brothers, John and Alfred. She is survived by her children, Neal (Tina) Roberts Jr., Martin (Marcia) Roberts; brother, Roger (Diane) Czarnecki; grandchildren, Rose (Jeff) Southwick, John (Dee) Roberts, Rachel Roberts, Jessica (Tyler) Bull; 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday August 27, 2015 from 10:30am to 11:30am at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. Funeral service will follow. Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Akron Children's Hospital.
