Thurstain W. Hall, a man of extraordinary spirit and creativity, departed this world on June 7, 2025, leaving behind a vibrant legacy woven into the hearts of those who loved him. Born on April 9, 1942, in Fultz, Kentucky, Thurstain grew to live a life marked by passion, faith, and a commitment to family that was as boundless as his zest for adventure.

As the proud owner of the T.W. Hall Company, Thurstain exemplified the values of hard work and integrity. Yet it was not just his professional endeavors that defined him, but rather the rich tapestry of his personal pursuits and relationships. home became a haven of warmth and creativity, where he cherished the art of decorating for every holiday and season, inviting joy and beauty into the lives of those around him. His creative talents shone through in everything from exquisite flower arrangements to his culinary creations, where each dish was crafted with love and a dash of whimsy.

Thurstain's heart held a special place for faith, as he found solace and purpose in reading the Bible and sharing the Gospel with everyone he encountered. His enthusiasm knew no bounds, whether it be inspiring others with his beliefs or longing for the tranquility found in nature. Known to relish camping trips and fishing excursions, he embraced the world with open arms, forever curious and eager to explore its wonders.

Though life had its share of lighthearted moments—such as being playfully ejected from a little league baseball game—Thurstain’s proudest accomplishments resonated deeply with his community. In both 2016 and 2018, he received accolades from the City of Akron for his stunning yard beautification efforts, a reflection of his deep appreciation for nature’s aesthetics. Notably, he transformed his garden into a whimsical expression of creativity, shaped like a t-bone steak, a testament to his unique vision and playful spirit.

Thurstain leaves behind an enduring family legacy. He is survived by his beloved children: Mona Cross, Karen Dietz, and Bill (Shannon) Hall, who carry forward his love and lessons in their hearts. Diving further into his treasured family circle, his grandchildren—Kristine (Matt) Blankenship, Tiffany (Jeff) Ward, Michael Dietz, Bill Hall, Matthew Hall, and Kaitlyn Hall—will forever remember their grandfather as a beacon of affection and encouragement. The joy of his life extended into the next generation, as great-grandchildren Breeana Laird, Dean Laird, Hannah Laird, Sophia Parrott, Samuel Ward, Zander Mahan, and Serenity Hamilton will cherish the warmth of his memory.

Surviving him also is his brother David Hall, alongside many nieces and nephews who will forever bear the imprint of his kindness and humor.

Thurstain was predeceased by his devoted wife Mary Jane, along with eight brothers and sisters, who surely welcomed him with open arms at the gates of eternity.

In the quiet moments, where nature dances on the breeze and memories whisper through the leaves, Thurstain W. Hall will be missed dearly. He embodied a life lived fully, never hesitating to share his love, laughter, and faith. His spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him, echoing in the laughter of family gatherings and in the beautiful blooms that rise in his memory.

A Graveside service will be held Thursday June 12th at Rose Hill Burial Park, 3653 W. Market St., Akron, with Pastor T. J. Reinhart officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
