Thomas “Tom” Michael Prebonick, 72, completed his earthly journey and passed suddenly on May 1st, 2026.
Tom was born on September 15th, 1953. A quiet and peaceful man, Tom found joy in reading, hiking, meditating, and spending time behind the wheel of his Ford truck. He worked in construction throughout his life and was known for being incredibly handy, hardworking, and always willing to help others. Tom was especially skilled in concrete finishing, taking great pride in his work and earning respect for how meticulous and detailoriented he was. He lived simply and generously, and those who knew him often said he would give you the shirt off his back.
Tom shared a close and loving bond with his parents, Steve and Mary Ann Prebonick, who preceded him in death. Family meant everything to him, and he treasured the time spent with those he loved.
He is survived by his eight siblings, Steve (Peggy), Mary (Harry), Rose (Bob), Mike (Kathy), Theresa (Larry), Margaret, George (Karen), and Joe (Kim), along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss his kindness, steady presence, and gentle spirit.
Tom will be remembered in the intentions on Sunday, May 24th, 2026, during the 11:00 a.m. mass at Blessed Trinity Parish in Akron. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Tom will forever be held in our hearts for his humble nature, generous heart, and the quiet way he cared for those around him. He will be dearly missed.
