Thomas M. Karr, 83, of Akron, passed away on April 22, 2015. He was born in Washington D.C. on January 28, 1932 to the late John and Louisa Karr. Tom proudly served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a security officer at Summa St. Thomas Hospital and also for McNeil Akron. In his free time, he loved dancing, playing euchre, and telling stories. He was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife Martha; son, Thomas Aaron; and brother, Donald. He will be deeply missed by his children, Kenneth (Barbara) Karr and Audrey (Kenneth) Humphrey and their mother, Iva M. Karr; brothers, Jack (Shirley), Robert (Lucille), and Eugene (Robin) Karr; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 3-6 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Joyce Schroer officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
