Thomas Kerr

Thomas C. Kerr, 57, of Kent, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015. Thomas was born in Akron, Ohio on June 30, 1957 to the late Richard and Jean Kerr. Thomas retired from City of Akron Fire Department after 30 years of service and was also employed at Akron General Hospital as a Paramedic in the ER. In his free time, he enjoyed, golfing, fishing in his backyard and spending time with family. Thomas is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lorraine Kerr; children, Alison Kerr, and Randall (Kristen) Kerr; grandchildren, Anthony Greenaway, Alexis, Alexander, Andrew, and Adalynne Kerr; sisters, Sharon Nicholas and Beverly Coble; brother Charles (Janene) Kerr and many nieces, nephews, and friends. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Justin T Roger Hospice Care Center for all of the care and support they gave to the family. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron with a Last Alarm Service at 7:30pm conducted by the Akron Area Firefighter Retirees. Additional calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 10 to 11am with funeral service to follow at 11am with Pastor Brad Jagger officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
