Thomas R. "Tommy" Hazen

Thomas R. "Tommy" Hazen, 73, passed away unexpectedly on August 6, 2026. Born in Akron, Ohio to Earl and Della (Craft) Hazen, he grew up in Green. Tommy retired as City of Akron Police Officer after 35 years of service. He enjoyed traveling, music, laughter, planting flowers, loving his cats, watching football and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his brother, John Hazen. He will be sadly missed by the love of his life, Cora Taylor; daughter, Rosie; granddaughter, Brooklyn; grandson, Sonny; brother, Jim (Judy) Hazen; sister, Linda (Dave) Hoff; sister-in-law, Sherry Hazen.

Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, August 14, 2026 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Tommy's name to the Humane Society of Summit County.
