Thomas E. Battle

Thomas E. Battle "Babe", 82, of Akron, passed away July 6, 2014. He was born in Lisbon, OH on April 12, 1932 to the late John and Angelina Battle. Babe proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Babcock & Wilcox. He was a life member of the Army Navy Garrison 273 in Lakemore, the American Legion, and the Airport VFW Post. He will be deeply missed by his children, Mark Battle and Susan "Michelle" (Dave)Shackelford; grandchildren, Larry Burge (Randi Stewart), Ashley Burge, Tina Burge (Stephen Eisman); great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Lilly, Jeremy, Katrina, Madison; sister-in-law, Shirley (Terry) Johnson; cousins, Bob (Charlotte), Mike, Terry, Sandy; nieces and nephew, Sherri, Terri, and Jack Jr. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Battle.
