Thelma G. Yarger, 81, of Akron, was received into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 15, 2015. Thelma was born in Nicut, West Virginia on September 4, 1933 to the late William and Losie Metz. She was a wonderful care giver for her family and a positive influence on her granddaughter and great granddaughter. Thelma loved God and reading her bible, she also loved nature, feeding her squirrels and birds in her backyard. In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death and greeted by her son, Bruce Slusher who passed away on March 12, 2005; brother, Bert Metz and sister Opal Bartley. She is survived by husband, Donald Yarger of 43 years; daughter, Brenda Grohe; granddaughter, Amanda (Greg) Westfall and great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Marie Westfall (the sweetie); brother, Russell (Becky) Metz; sisters, Jane Filkins and Etta (Junior) Collins. Family and friends may call on, Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, where funeral services will follow at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family in Mackenzie's name for her college fund.
