Thelma F. White

Thelma Faye White, 94, passed away on Wednesday February 18, 2015. She was born on April 26, 1920 in Martin, T.N. to Edgar and Elizabeth King. On July 20, 1946, she married Thomas Glynn White. They celebrated 68 years together. She lived in Akron, OH for most of her life and was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. Thelma will be especially remembered for her humor and kindness. She loved crocheting, and was an excellent seamstress. Everyone agrees she was a wonderful cook. Thelma was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and enjoyed singing in the choir at Tallmadge Community Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by son, William, and daughter, Glynda Orman. Survivors include husband, Thomas Glynn; daughter, Sharon Brewen; son, Wayne (Donna Shaver); daughter in-law, Patricia White; grandchildren, Gerilee Polk, Dana Urquiza, Angela Cleaver, Heather Chapman, Amanda Marzich, Lori Snyder, and Jared White; along with 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 24, 2015 at 7pm with visitation from 5-7 at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. Pastor Kevin Slyh officiating. Interment Northlawn Memorial Park. Thanks to the wonderful and caring people in Memory Care at Emeritus at Ravenna for their help and support. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
